The last few months of 2016 and these first 4 months of 2017 have turned out to be the busiest ever for me. I have entered several shows and exhibits, won a few more awards, painted 4 more large commissioned beach scenes, demonstrated pastel painting at a local Art Festival, and participated in a 3-day Plein
Air Painting event! Every moment helped me grow as an artist and has allowed me to make lots of new friends and mentors in Visual Arts.
2016…Crazy year!
Sorry I haven’t posted anything in like forever! This has been a great, but crazy busy year for me. I did 12 commissioned pieces, entered 8 different exhibits/shows. One first place for a colored pencil piece and honorable mention for a pastel painting. I’ve also joined in Plein air groups who paint and sketch from nature around my local area. In Aug. I traveled to northern Montana, Idaho and Utah. And in Oct. drove with friends up to New England for some amazing photo ops of the rocky shorelines and tree-lined back roads. Unfortunately, due to the drought and extremely warm summer, the autumn colors came too late for me to experience.
Since 2015’s Craft scene was not very lucrative for me, I chose not to enter in any of the local fairs this year. So bear with me readers and art fans…2017 looks to be another award winning year with lots of creative opportunities just waiting for me!
